The Planning Board meets the second Monday of each month at 6:30pm at the Town Hall, 12012 Woodhull Road, Forestport. The July and August Meeting are held in the following locations - July/Woodgate Fire Hall, August/Otter Lake Fire Hall.
The Board reviews development within the Town to assure growth conforms to the guidelines of the town's Site Review Law, Subdivision Law and other local land use regulations which encourage growth but preserve the qualities that make Forestport a unique community. The board reviews Site Review applications for activities listed in Section 5.2-C of the Site Review Law, including:
- Any use involving the use of more the alteration of three or more acres of land, excluding customary agricultural uses such as pasturing and crop raising;
- Mobile Home Parks;
- Travel Trailer Parks;
- Campgrounds
- All non-residential uses;
- Conversion of any building into a three- or more family dwelling;
- Any DEC "Type 1" SEQR action;Any development within a designated floodplain or wetland;
- any residential subdivision, as defined in the Site Review Law
Members are appointed by the Town Board to staggered five-year terms.
